Wingate by Wyndham New York Midtown South/5th Ave

Excellent location, a 10 minutes walk from Grand Central Station and around 7 minutes walk to Times Square. Easy access to the subway/buses. The room was very small but we knew already and it didn't represent an issue for us, we had all the space we needed. Very comfortable bed, big TV screen, good choice of teas and coffee in the room, great water pressure from the shower. Complimentary breakfast is a big plus - too bad they didn't have any dairy free milk/options in general, but it was good overall. We would recommend it for a couple/friends travelling together.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The room was so comfortable and the shower room was well sized. Rooms in New York are small, this was small but we expected that and it was really nicely kitted out and decorated. Spotlessly clean. Lifts are fast. Staff are all friendly and helpful. We paid for a Gotham view. It was worth every penny! Situated on the 17th floor and just a beautiful view day and night. The included breakfast was a real bonus! Great variety. The location on 5th avenue is great too. Really central. We walked everywhere! Everyday when we returned our bed was all neat and the room was cool. Just lovely to arrive back to! Should mention there was a fridge in the room as well as a coffee machine. Just great. We’d recommend this hotel to anyone.

Brilliant location and view of the Empire State Building from the room was fantastic. Happy they provided a steamer as well and the one I brought from home did not work.

The room was quite small but very clean and comfortable with small fridge and coffee machine.Perfect location in Manhattan downtown, walking distance to Empire state building, NY time square, the state library and shops.Friendly, supported and professional staff. The breakfast was fine, cooking food, fruits, drinks, different cakes and sweets if you like. The taste was different, I personally preferred the English breakfast.

The hotel was in a great location - near to both Penn Station (so easy from JFK on Airtrain and then LIRR), and Grand Central where I was getting a train to Connecticut. But it’s also near lots of shops, Bryant Park, Empire State and Chrysler Building etc. The reception staff were really friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom was very clean, it was modern and new, the bed was comfortable and the TV worked (and was showing the World Cup!). I was worried that for the price it wouldn’t live up to the pictures, but it did and was probably better. Great little tea/coffee machine, a microwave and a fridge. The breakfast room isn’t huge, and everyone leaves it late (though reception warned me about that. But I grabbed a coffee, some fruits and a croissant and went back to my bedroom to have. Very happy and would stay again. Even had a view of the Empire State from my bed!
